SNOW DAY

Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago in the snow. It snowed really hard for several hours.

Austin & Bailey braved the wind and snow for a couple of minutes.

The wind was blowing so hard and hitting us in the face that we came in really quick. We decided that we could play in the snow the next morning.

Bailey smiling beautifully in the snow. She was all bundled up and looking adorable.

For most of the morning Bailey sat in the chair and watched Austin build a snow man. She wasn't crazy about the snow. She remembered it hitting her in the face the night before and also it got her boots dirty. That's a big no-no in Bailey's eyes. She loves her shoes.

Austin got up with Bailey that morning so I could sleep in. It didn't last long though. He was so excited about taking Bailey out into the snow that he came and woke me up. He sent Bailey in yelling get up mommy. Then he said let's go play in the snow and Bailey said no I don't want to play in the snow. After about an hour and a half she finally warmed up and got out of her chair.

Easter Fun

We went to Ceder Hill farms on Friday before Easter. Austin, Bailey, and I met our friends Claudia and Ethan there. We had a lot of fun. Some of the activities included pony rides, an Easter egg hunt, and pictures with live bunnies. Below are some pictures from our fun day.

We left Cedar Hill farms Friday and traveled to Grapevine to spend Easter with Nana & Papaw. Bethany and Micah were also down for a visit while Ericka & Nathan were gone on a ski trip with their youth group. Nana and Papaw had lots of fun activities planned for the grandkids. They went fishing, hunted Easter eggs, and made cupcakes.

We came home Monday afternoon and got ready for a visit from my family. My whole family (minus David) came up on Thursday. It just worked out that they were all on spring break on the same week. There were 14 people in our house for two nights & mom and dad stayed three nights. Love it! We had planned a trip to the Memphis Zoo, but chances of rain changed our plans. We ended up going bowling and watching movies. Our neighbors were kind enough to bring over one of their bounce pits for the kids on Saturday morning. It was fun and freezing.

WE'RE STILL HERE

You may be wondering if we still exist. It has been a while since I have taken time to blog. Things have happened and I have several pictures that I would like to post. I promise I will get to them soon. Some things recently going on with us are:

*** Went to Mineral for my dad's surprise 60th birthday party. We all went in together and got him a 37" flat screen T.V.

*** I got two wisdom teeth pulled about a week and a half ago. It went smoothly for about a day and half then dry socket and infection set in. That's part of the reason I haven't updated the blog. I've been in a lot of pain part of the time and on pain medicine the other. I thought the right side of my head was going to explode for a couple of days.

*** We've been working with an architect drawing up house plans. If we can get a good bid from a builder we might begin building soon. If not then we will have the plans for when we decide to build.

*** Austin, Jeff, and Dave took a trip to California for a conference. They had a great time and Austin came back with ideas for a vacation.

*** Bailey has kept us laughing and on our toes. It seems like we are either laughing hysterically at her or getting on to her. She is a blast. You never know what she will come up with next.

*** Waiting on little Levi's arrival. Kacey is going in on Tuesday, March 11th to be induced. We will meet him in a couple of days. Keep them in your prayers (4 boys)!

*** Celebrated Austin's 27th birthday. He has caught up with me again. I love him more each year.

*** Austin was sick on Valentines day. He was feeling terrible for about a week. I told everyone when Austin is just laying around on the couch you know something is wrong. If we are just hanging out at the house he will usually sit for a while then walk around outside for a while or find something to work on. He has those "Taylor" genes. It's a good thing one of us does. I'm pretty sure Bailey does too!

*** We got our first snow of the year. It was pretty but I am ready for spring. We need to be able to play outside and release some energy.

I am sure that I am forgetting something. I'll be sure to post more later with some pictures that we have taken.

Celebrating Levi's Upcoming Arrival

Last thursday night a group of us got together to celebrate our sweet friend Kacey. She is expecting a new bundle of joy, Levi Craig Rhodes, in early March. We celebrated at Olive Garden where we ate well and watched Kacey open gifts. Below are a few pictures from the night.

We had a wonderful time just getting together and enjoying the good company. We decided that we should find something to celebrate every three or four months.

BIG GIRL BED!!

Austin is carefully reading the instructions before constructing Bailey's new "big girl bed".

A project this big requires a lot of concentration.

Bailey is proudly posing on her new bed. Now she wants me to take a picture every time she goes to bed. She got a little upset when she realized that her baby bed was coming apart.

She is showing us how she is going to lay her first night in the new bed.

Fast asleep after only one attempt to escape. Bailey followed me out of her room after I tucked her in. She told me that was not her bed, it was some other kid's bed. Nice try. She has done wonderful. That was the only time at night that she did not just get into her bed and go to sleep. She has slept all night until about 8:30 every morning. Yeah!!

Nap time has been a different story. She will lay down for about one minute and then come out and say she is awake now. The second day I found her asleep half way in her book shelf and half on the floor. This picture is day three. Here she is sleeping half in her bed and half hanging out. She plays for about an hour and finally konks out. I am hoping this will improve over time. If I had to choose though I would definately pick nap time to be our struggle.
